About the Award

Launched in 2024, the IAFL Early Career Award Programme provides a bursary enabling recipients to attend the Annual Meeting and develop valuable professional networks with leading international family lawyers. The Award covers the meeting registration fee (including a ticket to the President's Dinner on 5 September), four nights' hotel accommodation, and a contribution towards travel expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be under 35 years of age at the time of the meeting, be a qualified lawyer licensed or registered to practise with the relevant professional regulatory body, demonstrate that a significant amount of their work is devoted to family law, and be reasonably fluent in English. Preference will be given to applicants from lower and lower-middle income countries, with particular emphasis on applications from Central and Eastern Europe.

How to Apply

Completed application forms, together with supporting documentation, should be submitted to the IAFL Executive Director, Annie Dunster. The deadline for applications is midnight GMT on Friday 10 April 2026. Successful candidates will be notified by email during the week of 11 May 2026.
